In my experience the best machine is one that has been designed for gaming. This will give you excellent graphics, both 2-D and 3-D. I would suggest picking one that’s very high performance but not to the extreme, as you will be paying for cutting-edge hardware that might also be a bit unreliable.
I would not recommend purchasing hardware that’s been designed for CAD workstations.
I definitely would not recommend one designed primarily for sending emails and viewing the worldwide inter web sphere, aimed mainly at your mum and dad.
- 64-bit O/S.
- At least 8 GB of memory.
- A SSD. You will really feel the benefits from using one of these. They are quite cheap now.
- An old-style H/D with probably 1 to 2 TB disk.
- And finally an excellent graphics card. The more you pay for this the more value you get. But again do not pick a top of the range forwards/premium priced card.
